Less Bites, More Wonders

I think I am going to be posting more lighting fixtures in the future. I am really drawn to them and they're one of the first things I notice when I go to a place for the first time.

Hindi kaya alitaptap ako sa past life ko?

The photo below is a lighting fixture at Krispy Kreme Glorietta. It resembles a beehive and looks way better in person. That got me into reading articles about taking photos of light.

This one was taken at Landmark Makati's shoe section. I got overwhelmed by how big the chandelier is and how many they are. I guess around 10 of these are spread across the ceiling of the whole wing.

Coffee, Cheese, and Rock Salt.. Together?

A Happy Lemon branch recently opened at SM Mall of Asia.

It didn't catch my attention at first because I thought it's probably another milk tea shop, and I wasn't really that fond of milk tea.

Last week though, I was feeling a little bit under the weather and I thought maybe trying out something I haven't tried before can jolt me into motivation.

I swear I was going to buy milk tea just to mix things up. But when I saw coffee on the menu -- it just felt so wrong to order something else. Coffee trumps tea every time!

My eyes caught grapefruit black coffee first but when I placed my order, the cashier looked at me like I lost my mind. I didn't want a bad first experience at Happy Lemon so I just asked her what coffee drink she would recommend instead.

Without batting an eyelash, she pointed to a photo of Coffee with Rock Salt and Cheese -- that was my cue to give her the have-you-lost-your-mind look. She told me it was their best seller so who am I to argue with the rest of the folks who like it.

And boy was I glad I listened to her. I never knew how great coffee, cheese, and rock salt go well together.

It's supposed to be drank without a straw so you can get the perfect mix of coffee, cheese, and salt with each sip.

I usually have my coffee black, which means no cream or sugar so I was happy that they had the option to reduce the sugar by up to 50%.  I never thought I'd enjoy sassy coffee again.  Next time, I promise I'll try their grapefruit coffee.

I Can't Quit You, Coffee

I really intended to quit coffee but I guess intending to quit is not enough.  Coffee dates have been one of Eric's and my time with each other and talk or sit quietly and do each of our stuff.

Here's where we last went:

Starbucks 6750

We don't often go here. So it was quite a surprise to see how nice pretty the interiors were. Not your ordinary Starbucks. It's a 2-level coffee shop with lighting fixtures that stretch from the ceiling of the 2nd floor.

There's one irregularly shaped group table in the middle that adds a very pretty touch to the whole store.

Map of the Philippines
Starbucks of the Philippines

On the way up is a wall printed with the map of the Philippines made of letters making up places where, I presume, Starbucks coffee shops are. I don't often see Starbucks coffee shops with a Philippine touch to them.

If you're inspired by beautiful architecture and design, pay a visit.
